Amelia’s story, passed down partly by my grandmother and partly by my mother, is the short but true story of a woman who met her fate too soon. Now completely revised with a structural cut, the first version preserves Amelia’s gripping story in the red reflection of a carnelian ring, which leads to an incomprehensible conclusion.

La storia di Amelia, tramandata in parte da mia nonna e in parte da mia madre, è la vicenda breve ma vera di una donna che ha incontrato il suo destino troppo presto. Oramai del tutto revisionata con un taglio strutturale, la prima versione custodisce nel riflesso rosso di un anello di corniola l’avvincente vicenda di Amelia, che sfocia in una conclusione incomprensibile.
This previously published book has been extensively reworked by me. I hope, considering the variations’ extent, it will be regarded as unpublished, and for this reason, I prefer not to publish it. Regardless, I will include a clarifying remark in the secretariat for a forthcoming literary competition, emphasizing the existence of the prior edition and the scope of the modifications and adjustments.
Questo libro, precedentemente edito, è stato da me ampiamente rielaborato. Spero che, vista l’entità delle variazioni, venga considerato inedito e per questo preferirei non pubblicarlo. Comunque sia, aggiungerò una nota esplicativa alla segreteria di un futuro concorso letterario, segnalando la preesistenza dell’edizione precedente e l’entità delle correzioni e delle revisioni.
